X-Factor #79

Published by Marvel Comics in 1992, X-Factor #79 serves as a pivotal entry in the series, marking the beginning of the 'X-Amination' storyline. This issue was part of a major creative transition for the title, as writer Peter David took the helm to steer the team into a new direction following the departure of the original X-Factor members. The narrative focuses on the government-sponsored iteration of the team, placing them under the guidance of Valerie Cooper and introducing a more psychological, character-driven tone that became a hallmark of David's run.

The interior art was provided by Larry Stroman, whose distinct, angular style brought a unique visual identity to the book during the early 1990s. His work on this issue was noted for its dynamic panel layouts and expressive characterizations, which contrasted with the house style of other X-titles at the time. The cover, illustrated by Joe Quesada, solidified the moody aesthetic of the relaunch, signaling to readers a departure from the traditional superhero antics toward more complex interpersonal dynamics.
