X-Force #45

X-Force #45, published in April 1995, arrived during a transitional period for the X-Men franchise as Marvel moved away from the extreme aesthetics of the early nineties. As part of the Phalanx Covenant crossover aftermath, this issue features the work of writer Jeph Loeb and artist Adam Pollina. The story continues the team's evolution, focusing on the shifting dynamics of the group as they navigate the aftermath of major mutant conflicts and internal ideological shifts.

Adam Pollina’s contributions to this era of X-Force are noted for moving the title toward a more stylized, clean-line aesthetic that diverged from the hyper-detailed, gritty style popularized earlier in the decade. The issue was received as a standard installment of the ongoing superhero soap opera typical of the mid-nineties, functioning as a bridge between high-stakes event storylines and the more character-driven narratives that define this specific run of the series.
