X-Men Forever #2

X-Men Forever #2 was published in 2009 as part of a limited series written by Chris Claremont, the legendary writer who guided the X-Men franchise through its most iconic era in the 1970s and 1980s. This series was conceptualized as a 'what if' narrative, picking up directly from the conclusion of Claremont's original 16-year run on the main Uncanny X-Men title, effectively ignoring the decades of continuity that followed his departure in the early 1990s.

The interior art was provided by Tom Grummett, whose clean, classic style helped anchor the nostalgic tone of the series. The project was conceived by Marvel to provide longtime fans with the specific resolutions Claremont had originally intended for the characters before editorial changes altered his trajectory. Upon release, it was received as a bridge between eras, appealing primarily to readers who had followed the X-Men during the writer's original, highly influential tenure.
