X-Men Infinity Comic #5

The X-Men Infinity Comic series was launched by Marvel as a digital-first initiative designed specifically for the vertical scrolling format of mobile devices. Debuting in the early 2020s, this series was part of an effort to modernize traditional comic book storytelling, utilizing the lack of fixed panel constraints to create more fluid, cinematic reading experiences that take advantage of the smartphone screen's unique dimensions.

Issue #5 contributes to the ongoing expansion of the Krakoan era of X-Men lore, a period defined by the mutants' establishment of a sovereign nation and their complex global politics. The creators focused on leveraging the digital medium to emphasize pacing and impact, receiving positive attention from readers for successfully adapting classic superhero tropes into a format that feels native to contemporary digital platforms rather than a mere digitizing of printed pages.
