Where it came from
X-Men Infinity Comic #8 is part of the digital-first initiative launched by Marvel Comics to utilize the vertical scrolling format. Designed specifically for mobile reading, the series leverages a 'waterfall' layout that allows for seamless transitions between panels, moving away from the traditional constraints of physical page turns. This approach was crafted to introduce Marvel characters to a modern, digitally native audience by prioritizing accessibility and visual flow on handheld devices.
The creative direction for this series focuses on standalone, high-impact stories that fit within the broader X-Men continuity while remaining approachable for new readers. By utilizing digital-exclusive artists and writers, Marvel aimed to experiment with pacing and color dynamics that are distinct from their print counterparts. The series has been received as a successful bridge between legacy superhero storytelling and the evolving landscape of digital media consumption.
