X-Treme X-Men #41

X-Treme X-Men #41 was released in 2004 as the concluding chapter of the original series written by Chris Claremont and illustrated by artists including Igor Kordey. This title was launched in 2001 as a spin-off from the core X-Men books, designed to follow a splinter group of mutants operating outside the direct oversight of the X-Mansion. The series was characterized by its global scope and a focus on long-form, complex character arcs that were staples of Claremont's established writing style.

The creative intent behind the final issue was to provide a resolution to the overarching storylines developed throughout the series' three-year run, including the status of Storm and her team. The design and narrative approach sought to lean into the high-stakes, action-oriented aesthetic common to early 2000s Marvel comics. Upon its release, the issue was received as a definitive end to this particular iteration of the team before the cast was folded back into other ongoing X-Men titles.
