X-Treme X-Men #6

X-Treme X-Men #6 was released in 2001 as part of the X-Men line during Marvel's early 2000s creative restructuring. Written by Chris Claremont and illustrated by Salvador Larroca, the series was launched to focus on a splinter group of mutants searching for Destiny's diaries, which purportedly contained prophecies about the future. This particular issue continues the 'Schism' arc, serving as a transitional point in a story that sought to define the team's identity apart from the primary X-Men squad.

The creative direction for this series leaned heavily into the soap-opera style and character-focused narratives that defined Claremont's long tenure with the franchise. Larroca’s art style provided a sleek, modern aesthetic that contrasted with the more traditional layouts of previous decades. While the series received moderate critical attention, it was primarily regarded as a vehicle for established fans of the Claremont era to see his continued exploration of the X-Men mythos.
