Yamikin Ushijima-kun Gaiden: Nikumamushi Densetsu #26

Yamikin Ushijima-kun Gaiden: Nikumamushi Densetsu is a spin-off series based on Shohei Manabe’s dark financial manga Yamikin Ushijima-kun. This specific branch focuses on the character Nikumamushi, a notoriously sadistic and violent antagonist from the original series. The spin-off began serialization in 2017, written by Manabe and illustrated by Ryo Hikari, aiming to explore the backstory and brutal underworld exploits of the character, providing a grittier, hyper-violent companion piece to the core financial thriller narrative.

The series maintains the bleak, realistic aesthetic established by the parent manga, utilizing high-contrast ink work to depict the moral decay of Tokyo's criminal subculture. Issue #26 continues the narrative arc following the volatile protagonist, fitting into the long-running publication history of Shogakukan’s Big Comic Spirits magazine. It was received by readers as a visceral extension of the franchise, appealing to fans of the original’s uncompromising look at poverty, crime, and human cruelty.
