Yankee Assistant no Ashizawa-kun ni Koi wo Shita #1

Yankee Assistant no Ashizawa-kun ni Koi wo Shita, written and illustrated by mangaka Ryo Kano, began its serialization in the Japanese manga magazine Manga Club. This slice-of-life romantic comedy focuses on the juxtaposition between a typical office worker and an assistant who retains his delinquent, or 'yankee,' persona and appearance despite his professional role. The series captures the lighthearted humor inherent in workplace dynamics and unexpected social mismatches.

The first volume serves as an introduction to the humorous friction between the earnest protagonist and the titular Ashizawa-kun. Kano's design for the character leans into classic shonen delinquent tropes—often featuring stylized hair and intimidating expressions—contrasted with the mundane setting of an office environment. The series has been received as a modest entry in the workplace rom-com genre, favored by readers who enjoy character-driven character studies with a comedic twist.
