Young All-Stars #22

Young All-Stars #22 was published in 1989 as part of the DC Comics line that explored the golden age heroes of the All-Star Squadron during the Second World War. This specific issue arrived during the twilight of the series, which sought to bridge continuity gaps and reintroduce legacy characters to a modern audience. The narrative focused on the interpersonal dynamics and moral struggles of young heroes tasked with protecting the home front while their mentors served on the front lines of the global conflict.

The creative direction for this era of the series emphasized a more grounded, character-driven approach to the wartime superhero trope. The artwork and writing were intended to evoke a sense of nostalgia for classic comic traditions while maintaining the gritty, evolving sensibilities of late 1980s storytelling. Although the series eventually concluded its run shortly thereafter, it remains a notable entry for collectors interested in the complex tapestry of DC's historical timeline and the evolution of its sidekick-centric lore.
