Young All-Stars #28

Young All-Stars #28, published by DC Comics in 1989, emerged as part of the publisher's ongoing commitment to exploring the histories of Golden Age heroes through a modern narrative lens. This series focused on the youthful members of the All-Star Squadron, serving as a prequel to the Justice Society of America, and was written by Roy Thomas, a historian of the DC Universe who specialized in retroactively integrating complex continuity into a cohesive timeline.

The issue features cover art and interior illustration by Michael Bair, who provided the series with a distinct, clean aesthetic that balanced traditional comic tropes with the more nuanced storytelling typical of the late eighties. The work was received as a solid addition to Thomas's long-form exploration of the Earth-Two reality, noted by readers for its focus on character development amidst the geopolitical tensions of the World War II era.
