Zeikin de Katta Hon #20

Zeikin de Katta Hon, written by Suiisho and illustrated by Kei Keiyama, began its serialization in Kodansha’s Weekly Young Magazine in 2020. The series offers a humorous and informative look at the daily operations of a public library, centered on a protagonist who works as a civil servant librarian. By highlighting the bureaucratic intricacies and the quirky realities of public service, the manga serves as both a lighthearted workplace comedy and a tribute to the vital role of civic institutions in Japanese society.

The character design and visual tone emphasize the contrast between the grounded, often mundane nature of library administration and the colorful personalities of the patrons and staff. As a long-running series, the release of volume 20 marks a significant milestone in its ongoing narrative. The work has been well-received by readers for its ability to transform the technicalities of government-funded book acquisition and maintenance into an engaging and relatable story, balancing educational elements with traditional manga tropes.
