A Good Clean Fight

A Good Clean Fight (GEM088) was released as part of the GEM Pack Promos, a series of promotional cards distributed to support the growth of the game's competitive organized play scene. These cards were typically issued as participation prizes or tournament rewards, intended to reward players for their engagement with local hobby shops and official events. By introducing limited-edition mechanics and thematic action cards, the developers aimed to keep the meta-game dynamic while incentivizing players to frequent community hubs.

The design of the card reflects the aesthetic shift seen in mid-series expansions, prioritizing punchy, high-contrast action imagery to emphasize the aggressive nature of the gameplay. The illustration team focused on capturing a kinetic, stylized combat encounter to fit the 'action' card type, which was intended to provide players with tactical utility during critical turns. Upon release, the promo was generally well-received by collectors and competitive players alike for its unique ability set, which allowed for specific defensive maneuvers that were not present in the standard base set.
