Art of Desire: Soul

Art of Desire: Soul was released as part of the Part the Mistveil expansion for the Flesh and Blood trading card game in 2024. Developed by Legend Story Studios, this set marked a significant narrative milestone by introducing the region of Misteria, a land shrouded in spiritual ambiguity and ascetic discipline. The card reflects the set's thematic focus on the harmony between physical form and the soul, acting as a pivotal mechanic for the class-specific gameplay styles introduced in this expansion.

The visual identity of this card, like much of the set, was crafted to evoke a sense of ethereal mystery consistent with the game’s high-fantasy art direction. Designers focused on the concept of 'inner illumination' to differentiate this expansion from previous, more visceral releases. Within the game's competitive meta, the card was received as a versatile tool for deck construction, valued by players for its ability to manipulate soul resources and facilitate the complex tactical maneuvers characteristic of the set's unique hero roster.
