Where it came from
The Chivalry card, designated LGS211, was released as a promotional item for local game stores to bolster community engagement and reward loyal patrons. Emerging from a design philosophy centered on classic fantasy tropes, it serves as a functional artifact for players seeking to enhance their decks with themes of honor and tactical support. By distributing these through brick-and-mortar shops, the creators aimed to preserve the tactile, social experience of table-top gaming that often gets lost in the transition to digital platforms.
The visual identity of this piece reflects a deliberate shift toward high-fantasy aesthetics, characterized by intricate armor detailing and soft, illustrative lighting. The artist intended to evoke a sense of noble legacy, distancing the card from the grittier or more abstract motifs common in standard expansions. Upon its release, the promo was generally well-received by the player base for its distinct card frame and the nostalgic weight it added to the gaming table.
