Where it came from
The Runechant token was introduced as part of the initial launch of Flesh and Blood, the trading card game designed by James White and developed by Legend Story Studios. As a central mechanic for the Runeblade class, these tokens represent ephemeral magical charges that players manifest during combat. The design features ethereal, runic aesthetics consistent with the game’s high-fantasy setting, intended to provide a clear, functional visual aid for tracking damage-dealing triggers.
This specific promotional version, designated FAB283, was distributed through official organized play channels to support the growth of the community. Like many early promotional tokens in the game, it was designed to offer players a premium physical representation of a core gameplay element, moving beyond the basic paper counters. It has since become a staple for Runeblade players who prioritize the tactile and visual consistency of their decks during competitive play.
