Where it came from
Sap was released as a promotional card for the Flesh and Blood trading card game, originating from Legend Story Studios. As an action card, it was distributed through organized play channels to incentivize participation in local and regional competitive events. These promo versions often feature unique card frames or extended art treatments that distinguish them from standard set releases, serving as a reward for players who support the game's community growth.
The design of the card reflects the aesthetic established by the Flesh and Blood art team, which prioritizes a high-fantasy, gritty visual style intended to immerse players in the world of Rathe. Like many early promotional cards in the game, the illustration focuses on thematic consistency, aiming to provide a tactile and collectible memento that rewards the dedication of the player base. It was received as a sought-after staple for enthusiasts who value exclusive iterations of core gameplay components.
