Sharp Incline

Sharp Incline was introduced as part of the Mastery Pack Warrior expansion, a set designed to flesh out the mid-game tactical options for players focusing on strength-based character builds. Released during a period where the game developers sought to emphasize momentum-based mechanics, this action card was specifically crafted to represent a character pushing through a defensive bottleneck. It serves as a staple common, providing a foundational utility that allows players to bypass restrictive battlefield conditions.

The card’s illustration was produced by the internal design team, who aimed for a stark, minimalist aesthetic to distinguish it from the more ornate legendary cards in the series. By utilizing high-contrast lines and a sense of verticality in the composition, the artists intended to convey the physical strain and kinetic energy of an uphill struggle. Upon its release, it was well-received by the competitive community for its reliable performance in various deck iterations, cementing its status as an essential, if understated, component of the set.
