Where it came from
Slither (LGS267) was introduced as part of the Local Game Store promotional initiative, a strategic effort by the publisher to incentivize foot traffic at independent brick-and-mortar hobby shops. By offering exclusive, foil-treated versions of mechanically distinct cards, the program sought to strengthen the bond between players and their local community spaces during a period of intense competition from online retailers.
The card belongs to the attack-reaction category, a design space intended to introduce tactical depth and 'gotcha' moments during the combat phase of the game. Its design follows the established aesthetic of the set, utilizing high-contrast, predatory-themed illustrations to emphasize its function as a disruptive combat trick. While the card is functionally niche, it remains a sought-after piece for players who favor reactive playstyles and collectors who prioritize the complete set of promotional assets.
