Where it came from
The Abominable Snowman Pop! figure, numbered 289 in the Disney series, was released to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Matterhorn Bobsleds attraction at Disneyland. Introduced in 1959 as the first tubular steel roller coaster in the world, the ride remains a landmark of Disney engineering and theme park history. The figure serves as a tribute to Harold, the iconic yeti who guards the mountain and remains one of the most recognizable figures in the park's lore.
Designed in the signature Funko aesthetic, the figure captures the character's whimsical yet intimidating appearance as depicted in the ride's later iterations. This specific 'Diamond Collection' variant features a glitter-infused finish intended to evoke the icy, crystalline environment of the Matterhorn. Upon its release, the figure was well-received by theme park enthusiasts and collectors who prioritize the history of Disney attractions, cementing its place as a commemorative piece within the broader Disney Pop! collection.
