Where it came from
Released as part of the initial expansion of Funko’s Pop! Disney line, figure number 49 captures the titular character from the 1951 animated classic, Alice in Wonderland. This piece was designed to translate the mid-century aesthetic of Disney’s original concept art—specifically Mary Blair’s iconic color palettes and character silhouettes—into the stylized, vinyl-toy format that defined Funko’s early growth in the collectible market.
The figure reflects the design language of the early 2010s, utilizing the signature oversized head and simplified, de-detailed facial features that helped the Pop! brand bridge the gap between niche toy collecting and mainstream home decor. Upon release, it was received as a nostalgic homage to Disney’s golden age of animation, quickly becoming a staple for fans seeking to represent the surreal, whimsical nature of the film within the broader Disney collector community.
