Where it came from
Anger, numbered 136 in the Funko Pop! Disney line, was released in 2015 to coincide with the theatrical debut of the Pixar film Inside Out. The figure was produced as part of a launch wave capturing the core emotions residing within the protagonist Riley’s mind. These figures were designed to reflect the distinct, stylized aesthetic of the film’s character designs, featuring Anger’s signature red complexion, tie, and the iconic flame-like hair element that visualizes his short-tempered nature.
The Funko design team sought to translate the film’s whimsical, expressive animation style into the minimalist vinyl format typical of the Pop! line. By focusing on essential character traits, such as Anger's furrowed expression and wide stance, the design successfully bridges the gap between mass-market collectibles and cinematic memorabilia. The figure was received positively by fans of the movie, becoming a staple for those curating Pixar-themed displays due to its vibrant color palette and recognizable silhouette.
