Appa [Flocked] /4000

Released as a limited edition exclusive for the 2020 Emerald City Comic Con, this Pop! Animation figure depicts Appa, the iconic sky bison from the beloved animated series Avatar: The Last Airbender. The figure was produced as part of the Funko Pop! line to commemorate the enduring popularity of the show and its distinctive character designs. The decision to produce a flocked version—which features a textured, fuzzy coating—was intended to mimic the soft appearance of the character's fur, appealing directly to fans of the show’s whimsical visual style.

The design of the figure captures Appa’s signature markings and gentle demeanor, serving as a nostalgic tribute to the series. Like many limited-run releases from this period, the item was marketed specifically toward adult collectors and convention attendees, quickly becoming a sought-after piece within the Avatar fandom. Its reception was largely driven by the scarcity of the piece and the high regard in which the show's creature designs are held, solidifying its place as a representative example of how Funko transforms animated characters into tangible, textured collectibles.
