Armored Batman (The Dark Knight Returns)

The Armored Batman Pop! figure, numbered 112 in the DC Heroes series, is based on the iconic iteration of the character from Frank Miller’s 1986 seminal graphic novel, The Dark Knight Returns. Created during an era of significant tonal shifts in comic books, the suit was designed to reflect an aging Bruce Wayne’s brutalist, tactical approach to confronting Superman, trading the traditional fabric suit for a hulking, industrial aesthetic meant to endure immense physical trauma.

Funko’s interpretation of this character leans into the blocky, stylized design language characteristic of the Pop! vinyl line, emphasizing the thick plating, bulky shoulder pads, and the signature glowing eye lenses seen in Miller's original illustrations. Released as part of the broader DC Comics expansion, the figure received positive reception from collectors who appreciated the faithful translation of Miller’s distinct, heavy-lined artistic style into a miniature 3D form.
