Where it came from
The Ash Williams Pop! VHS Cover, numbered 20 in the series, was released by Funko to celebrate the 1992 cult classic film Army of Darkness. The series is designed to commemorate the home video era by housing a standard-sized vinyl figure inside a display case that mimics the artwork and dimensions of original VHS packaging.
The figure depicts Ash Williams in his iconic look, complete with his chainsaw prosthetic and boomstick. The design team focused on blending the stylized, oversized aesthetic of the Pop! line with the nostalgic, rugged imagery of the film’s original promotional materials, creating a piece intended for collectors who value both cinematic history and modern toy design.
