Where it came from
Aubrey Posen, portrayed by Anna Camp in the 2012 musical comedy Pitch Perfect, was released as part of the Funko Pop! Movies line in 2014. The character serves as the rigid, tradition-bound leader of the Barden Bellas, and this figure was designed to capture her distinct performance aesthetic, specifically her polished appearance and signature collegiate style within the context of the collegiate a cappella circuit.
The figure was produced during a period of rapid expansion for the Pop! line as Funko increasingly sought to capture niche character archetypes from popular cinema. The design process focused on translating the specific color palette of the Bellas’ uniforms into the classic stylized Funko form, prioritizing recognizability for fans of the film franchise upon its initial release.
