Baba Looey

Baba Looey is a character from the 1959 animated series The Quick Draw McGraw Show, produced by Hanna-Barbera. Serving as the diminutive Mexican burro sidekick to the titular sheriff, Baba Looey was voiced by Daws Butler, who helped establish the character's signature earnest and slightly hesitant demeanor. The show itself was a staple of late 1950s Saturday morning television, showcasing the studio's transition toward limited animation techniques to keep up with the demands of weekly broadcast.

This Funko Pop! vinyl figure, numbered 281 in the Animation series, reflects the studio’s design philosophy of translating classic cartoon aesthetics into stylized, oversized-headed collectibles. Released as part of a wave honoring iconic Hanna-Barbera characters, the figure captures Baba Looey in his traditional vest and sombrero, rendered in the simplified, clean lines characteristic of the Pop! line. It serves as a nostalgic touchstone for viewers who grew up during the golden age of mid-century television animation.
