Where it came from
Released as part of the Disney Classics line, this Funko Pop! figure depicts the titular character from the 1942 animated feature film Bambi. The piece was created to celebrate the enduring legacy of one of Disney's most iconic early masterpieces, which was noted for its technical advancements in multiplane camera work and naturalistic character animation. It is designed in the signature Funko aesthetic, featuring the character's large, expressive eyes and oversized head, scaled down to a collectible vinyl format.
The character design for this figure draws directly from the refined animation style of the original film, specifically the work of Disney's 'Nine Old Men' who established the visual language for the young fawn. When this figure entered the market, it was received as a standard addition to the expansive Pop! Disney collection, appealing to long-time animation enthusiasts and fans of traditional hand-drawn cinema. It represents a bridge between contemporary collectible trends and the mid-century heritage of the Walt Disney studio.
