Where it came from
Released as part of the Funko Pop! Rides series, this figure celebrates the iconic 1977 film Smokey and the Bandit. The collectible captures the protagonist Bo 'Bandit' Darville behind the wheel of his black and gold Pontiac Trans Am, an automobile that became inextricably linked to the film's legacy and popularized the model among muscle car enthusiasts of the era.
The design emphasizes the distinct aesthetic of the movie, featuring the Bandit's signature cowboy hat and the Trans Am's prominent 'screaming chicken' hood decal. As a piece within the Pop! Rides line, it follows Funko’s established stylistic conventions of oversized heads and simplified features, which have been widely received by collectors as a nostalgic homage to 1970s pop culture iconography.
