Where it came from
Bat-Mite made his first appearance in Detective Comics #267 in 1959, created by writer Bill Finger and artist Sheldon Moldoff. Introduced as an impish, reality-warping fan of Batman from the fifth dimension, the character was designed to inject a sense of whimsy and meta-humor into the Batman mythos, reflecting the lighter, more surreal tone often found in DC Comics during the late fifties and early sixties.
This Funko Pop! figure was released as part of the Batman 80th Anniversary series, which celebrated eight decades of the Caped Crusader's cultural legacy. The metallic variant honors the character's long-standing place in comic book history, capturing the imp’s iconic blue-and-yellow costume with a shimmering finish that distinguishes it as a collector's piece within the broader Pop! Heroes line.
