Batman (Bombshells)

The DC Bombshells line originated as a 2013 variant cover series by illustrator Ant Lucia, who reimagined iconic DC heroines in a 1940s pin-up aesthetic. The concept proved immensely popular, leading to a broader expansion that included male characters like Batman, styled in matching mid-century aviation-inspired gear. This Pop! figure, number 258, was produced as part of the Pop! Heroes line to translate Lucia’s distinct retro-noir visual language into the stylized, vinyl form characteristic of Funko's collectibles.

Upon its release, the Batman Bombshells figure was received as a stylistic departure from the traditional, darker portrayals of the character. Fans of the Bombshells art style appreciated how the design retained the character's core identity while incorporating the specific mid-century military flight aesthetic that defined the series. It remains a notable piece for collectors interested in the intersection of classic superhero lore and vintage pulp-era illustration.
