Where it came from
Released in 2015 as part of the Funko Pop! Movies line, this figure depicts Beca Mitchell, the protagonist of the 2012 musical comedy Pitch Perfect. The release coincided with the theatrical run of Pitch Perfect 2, capitalizing on the franchise's significant cultural footprint and the popularity of its a cappella-focused narrative. Funko sought to capture the character's signature look, featuring her dark, layered hair and understated, edgy aesthetic that defined her role as an aspiring music producer.
The design follows the standard Funko Pop! stylized aesthetic, emphasizing oversized eyes and a simplified, geometric head shape to maintain consistency across the broader brand. While the figure is a mass-produced vinyl collectible, it was aimed directly at the film's dedicated fanbase. Upon release, it served as a standard entry in the Pop! Movies catalog, receiving a warm reception from collectors who appreciated the representation of modern musical cinema in the expanding Funko universe.
