Where it came from
Released as part of the Funko Pop! Movies line, this figure captures the memorable moment from the 2003 holiday film Elf where the titular character, Buddy, encounters a raccoon in Central Park. The figure was designed to translate the whimsical and slightly chaotic aesthetic of the film into the brand's signature stylized form, featuring the character's traditional green costume alongside the small, aggressive forest creature.
The figure reflects Funko's strategy of mining beloved cult classics for nostalgic collector appeal. By isolating a humorous, self-contained scene from the movie, the design team aimed to provide fans with a tangible representation of Buddy's fish-out-of-water experiences. It was released to general retail alongside other characters from the film and has since become a staple of seasonal pop culture collecting.
