Where it came from
The Bushfire Heroes Pop! series was released by Funko in early 2020 as a charitable response to the catastrophic Australian bushfires that occurred during the 2019-2020 season. The collection was designed to honor the brave firefighters and the various species of Australian wildlife impacted by the environmental crisis, with proceeds intended to support organizations like the RSPCA New South Wales.
The figures feature stylized representations of firefighters alongside iconic Australian animals such as koalas and wombats. The design language follows the standard Funko aesthetic but is distinguished by the specific thematic focus on humanitarian relief and ecological conservation. The line was received positively by the collecting community for its philanthropic mission and served as a significant example of the brand utilizing its platform for real-world crisis support.
