Where it came from
The Butterfly Heimlich Pop! vinyl figure, numbered 1352 in the Disney collection, was released as a 2023 Summer Convention Exclusive. It depicts the beloved caterpillar from the 1998 Pixar film A Bug's Life in his climactic transformation sequence, where he emerges from his cocoon as a small, slightly bewildered butterfly with vibrant wings. This figure captures a nostalgic moment of character growth that has resonated with fans of the film for decades.
Designed in the signature Funko aesthetic, the figure emphasizes the humorous contrast between the oversized caterpillar's personality and his newfound, delicate insect form. By focusing on this specific transformation, Funko tapped into the film's cult status, offering collectors a commemorative piece that celebrates one of the most memorable visual gags in Pixar history. Its release as a convention exclusive signaled its status as a sought-after item for dedicated animation enthusiasts.
