Where it came from
Caramelo was released as part of the Funko Pop! Ad Icons series, specifically celebrating the whimsical aesthetic of the Tokidoki brand. Tokidoki, founded by artist Simone Legno, is renowned for its colorful, Japanese-inspired characters that blend street culture with iconic, cute imagery. This figure captures the essence of Legno's signature style, translating the playful spirit of his universe into the standardized Funko vinyl format.
The design of Caramelo emphasizes the vibrant, confectionery-inspired palette often found throughout the Tokidoki franchise. As a crossover between Funko's established collectible line and Legno’s artistic vision, the figure was well-received by fans of designer toys who appreciate the intersection of pop-culture branding and stylized character art. It remains a staple for collectors who focus on the Ad Icons series and contemporary designer collaborations.
