Where it came from
Cat Yzma, numbered 786 in the Pop! Disney series, was released by Funko to celebrate the enduring cult appeal of the 2000 Disney animated film, The Emperor's New Groove. The figure captures the climactic moment where the film's antagonist, Yzma, is accidentally transformed into a small, purple-furred cat after consuming the wrong potion. This specific design leans into the comedic absurdity of the sequence, reflecting the stylized, oversized aesthetic that has defined the Pop! vinyl line since its inception in 2010.
The figure was created as part of Funko's effort to expand their representation of Disney's villain roster and deeper catalog of animated classics. Designed by the internal Funko creative team, the figure translates the expressive, angular animation style of Marc Henn and the film's lead animators into the brand's signature minimalist form. It was received warmly by collectors of Disney memorabilia who appreciated the inclusion of a niche fan-favorite character that is rarely represented in traditional merchandise.
