Where it came from
The Chef Funko Pop, numbered 1474 within the Pop! Television series, commemorates one of the most iconic supporting characters from the long-running animated sitcom South Park. Jerome 'Chef' McElroy served as the show's resident mentor and voice of reason from its debut in 1997, often providing guidance to the main children through soulful song. This figure was produced as part of Funko's ongoing expansion of the South Park collection, which aims to capture the evolving history of the town's inhabitants.
The design of the figurine maintains the company's signature aesthetic, featuring Chef in his standard white apron and toque, capturing his look from the show's early seasons. Funko designers prioritized the character's recognizable silhouette to ensure he fit seamlessly alongside existing figures of Stan, Kyle, Cartman, and Kenny. The release was met with appreciation by longtime viewers, serving as a nostalgic tribute to a character who remains a foundational part of the show's cultural legacy.
