Cobra B.A.T [Summer Convention]

The Cobra B.A.T. (Battle Android Trooper) Pop! figure, numbered 80 in the Retro Toys line, was produced by Funko to celebrate the enduring legacy of the G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero franchise. Introduced as a Summer Convention exclusive, this figure depicts the iconic robotic infantry unit first conceptualized by Hasbro in the 1980s. The design translates the B.A.T.’s utilitarian, menacing aesthetic into the signature Funko style, featuring its distinct yellow chest plate and interchangeable weapon arm attachments that defined the character’s versatile role in the Cobra organization.

This release draws upon the deep nostalgia associated with the 1980s G.I. Joe toy line, which revolutionized the 3.75-inch action figure market. By focusing on the B.A.T., Funko catered to long-time collectors who hold the G.I. Joe villain faction in high regard for its imaginative character designs. The figure reflects a broader trend of bridging vintage toy aesthetics with modern collectible formats, aiming to appeal to both contemporary pop culture enthusiasts and those who grew up with the original animated series and comics.
