Conan O'Brien as Marty McFly

Released in 2015, this Funko Pop! figure was created as part of an exclusive series celebrating Conan O'Brien's annual residency at San Diego Comic-Con. The figure depicts the late-night host dressed as Marty McFly from the Back to the Future franchise, blending the recognizable aesthetics of the iconic film character with the signature caricature style of the Funko brand. This specific piece was distributed to select attendees at the convention, quickly becoming a sought-after memento for fans of both the talk show host and the classic sci-fi film series.

The design process for the Pop! Conan line focused on capturing O'Brien’s distinctive features, such as his bright orange hair and expressive, wide-eyed look, while integrating them into various cinematic costumes. By pairing the host with Marty McFly's characteristic red vest and denim jacket, Funko aimed to bridge the gap between late-night television culture and pop-culture nostalgia. Upon its debut, the figure was well-received by collectors for its novelty, serving as a playful tribute to the long-standing tradition of Conan O'Brien’s energetic and often surreal appearances at the San Diego event.
