Where it came from
Released as part of the Funko Pop! Television line in 2017, this figure captures the character Cory Matthews from the beloved 1990s sitcom Boy Meets World. The figure was produced to tap into the widespread nostalgia for TGIF-era television programming, serving as a tangible memento for fans who grew up watching the series throughout its seven-season run on ABC.
The design draws directly from Cory's quintessential 1990s aesthetic, featuring his signature oversized flannel shirt and relaxed posture. Funko’s design team aimed to balance the company's stylized, large-headed caricature aesthetic with the recognizable features of actor Ben Savage, successfully translating the character's boyish, earnest demeanor into the standard 3.75-inch vinyl format that defined the company’s expansion into pop culture collectibles during the late 2010s.
