Where it came from
The Crayola Crayon Box Pop! figure was released as part of the Funko Pop! Ad Icons series, a collection dedicated to celebrating iconic brand mascots and corporate imagery from American commercial history. Designed to commemorate the legacy of the Binney & Smith Company, the figure captures the recognizable aesthetic of the classic yellow and green crayon box that has been a staple of classroom supplies since the early 20th century.
The design team at Funko focused on recreating the box's vintage structural branding, including the distinct diamond-patterned trim and the bold serif typography synonymous with the Crayola brand. Upon its release, the figure was well-received by collectors of advertising ephemera and fans of the Ad Icons line, serving as a nostalgic tribute to the educational tools that influenced generations of artists.
