Where it came from
Dalek Sec is a character from the long-running British science fiction series Doctor Who, appearing prominently during the second series of the modern revival. As the leader of the Cult of Skaro, Dalek Sec was designed to represent a higher level of intelligence and individual ambition within the Dalek hierarchy, a departure from their usual hive-mind uniformity. Funko released this figure as part of its Pop! Television line in 2016 to cater to the show's expansive global fan base.
The figure features the distinct black aesthetic that set the character apart in the series, including the gold-accented head dome and the unique, bulkier frame representative of the Cult of Skaro design. Funko maintained the signature oversized head and stylized proportions characteristic of the Pop! brand, aiming to provide collectors with a recognizable, shelf-friendly version of the iconic adversary. Upon its release, it was well-received by fans of the series who valued the opportunity to include a specific, named Dalek leader in their displays.
