Where it came from
Released as part of the Funko Pop! Albums series, this figure commemorates the 1989 landmark album Disintegration by The Cure. The series was designed to pay tribute to iconic musical milestones by pairing a miniature stylized figure with a representation of the original cover art, capturing the moody, atmospheric aesthetic that solidified the band's status as masters of gothic rock during the late eighties.
The figure draws inspiration from the haunting, impressionistic cover art of the album, which features a blurred, melancholic close-up of Robert Smith. Funko’s designers aimed to distill the band’s signature dark visual identity into their classic vinyl-toy aesthetic, resulting in a piece that functions as both a decorative memento for fans and a testament to the album's enduring influence on alternative music culture.
