Where it came from
The Failed Fusions 2-Pack, featuring Veku and Gotenks, was released by Funko as part of the Pop! Animation line. These figures represent the humorous, unsuccessful attempts at the Fusion Dance technique from the Dragon Ball Z franchise. The set captures the characters in their bloated and emaciated forms, highlighting the franchise's penchant for blending intense martial arts action with slapstick humor.
The design of these figures follows the standard Funko Pop aesthetic, characterized by large, squared-off heads and simplified features. By focusing on these specific, flawed states, the collection appeals to dedicated fans who appreciate the deeper lore of the series. Upon release, the set was well-received by collectors for its niche subject matter and its departure from the more common depictions of the primary super-powered protagonists.
