Where it came from
The Father of Ultra Funko Pop, numbered 765 in the Television series, was released as part of the broader expansion of the Ultraman license into the Funko ecosystem. The character originates from the 1970s Tokusatsu series Ultra Series, serving as the patriarch of the Ultra Brothers and a pivotal figure in the lore of the Land of Light. The design distorts the character's traditional suit proportions to fit the signature Funko aesthetic, featuring the character's distinct crest and silver color scheme.
This figure emerged during a period of increased global visibility for the Ultraman franchise through official international distribution deals. Collectors and fans of Japanese media received the piece as a representation of a foundational character in the giant hero genre. The design team focused on maintaining the iconic features of the Father of Ultra while conforming to the minimalist, large-eyed Funko style that has become standard across their licensed pop culture merchandise.
