Where it came from
The Evolving Dalek Sec Pop! figure was released as part of the Funko Pop! Television series, drawing inspiration from the iconic 2006 Doctor Who episode titled 'Evolution of the Daleks.' The design captures the unique, transitional hybrid state of Dalek Sec, the leader of the Cult of Skaro, who famously merged his physiology with that of a human. This particular figure was produced to celebrate the long-running science fiction legacy of the series and was crafted to reflect the distinctive aesthetic of the character's terrifying transformation.
Funko’s design team leaned into the character's grotesque aesthetic by incorporating metallic textures and the exposed, fleshy human-like torso encased within the traditional Dalek casing. As with many pieces in the early-to-mid Doctor Who line, this figure was aimed at series enthusiasts and toy collectors looking to capture specific narrative arcs. Upon its release, it was well-received by fans of the show's revival era for its faithful representation of a rather complex and visually striking television villain.
