Where it came from
Felix the Cat, created in the silent film era of the 1910s, remains one of the most recognizable icons in animation history. This particular Funko Pop! Pez dispenser was released to commemorate the character's 105th anniversary, blending the contemporary vinyl figure aesthetic with the classic novelty of the Pez brand. The design reflects a modern interpretation of Felix's signature mischievous grin and black-and-white silhouette, honoring the legacy of Pat Sullivan and Otto Messmer, who first popularized the character in theaters.
Funko’s Pop! Pez line gained popularity by reimagining pop culture icons as stylized, collectible dispensers. This anniversary release was designed to appeal to both nostalgia-driven animation fans and toy collectors who value the specific aesthetic evolution Funko brings to legacy intellectual properties. While the item is a contemporary production, it fits into the long history of Felix merchandise that has spanned nearly every medium since the character's debut over a century ago.
