Where it came from
Figment, the whimsical purple dragon who serves as the mascot for the Journey into Imagination attraction at Epcot, was introduced by Disney in 1983. This Funko Pop figure, released under the Pop! Disney banner as number 293, was part of a special series celebrating the 35th anniversary of Epcot. The figure depicts the character in his classic form, designed to capture the playful, creative spirit that defined the original pavilion's storytelling.
The design of this collectible stays true to the iconic appearance conceived by Disney Imagineers, particularly Tony Baxter and artist Steve Kirk, who created Figment to represent the sparks of imagination. As a piece of Epcot 35th-anniversary merchandise, the item was marketed toward theme park enthusiasts and long-time fans of the Walt Disney World Resort. It has since become a staple in collections focusing on Disney parks history and the unique charm of Epcot's early years.
