Where it came from
The FN-2199 Funko Pop, numbered 66 in the Star Wars line, was produced to commemorate the brief but culturally resonant appearance of the stormtrooper colloquially known to fans as TR-8R. Emerging from the 2015 release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, the character gained viral notoriety for his intense duel with Finn, during which he wielded a Z6 riot control baton and famously shouted 'Traitor!' at his former comrade.
The design of this figure leans into the sleek, updated aesthetic of the First Order stormtrooper armor. Funko designers emphasized the distinct shoulder pauldron and the dynamic pose required to hold the riot baton, capturing the specific visual shorthand of the character’s design. While the First Order armor is inherently uniform, this figure serves as a nod to the fandom's tendency to elevate minor, visually striking characters into icons through online discourse and meme culture.
